Knife Leather Traditions Whaler Sheaths are Available!
Just opened up a package with one of the new Whaler sheaths from Knife Leather Traditions. It uses up enough leather to cover up a whale of a big knife!!
Not only is it a great looking sheath, but I think it's fantastic to have a sheath of this quality available for a unique knife like the Whaler. This isn't the type of item you can walk into your local sporting goods store and pick up off the shelf. And not only will you be carrying one of the best knives in the best sheath available, they're both made right here in the USA.
Dave donated one of the Whaler sheaths to accompany the Wounded Warrior Project Raffle Whaler. He sent the sheath off to the raffle knife winner and I hope we get a chance to hear from him and see what he thinks of it.

Steve, they're available for order now. Dave custom makes them because you can can select from 4 color options, whether it's for right or left hand carry as well as the width of belt you'll carry it on. That's a lot of possible combinations.

You can't go wrong with Knife Traditions Leather. You order the sheath the way you want it be, you get exceptional quality and you precious whaler (becuase we all know we feel that way) has its own custom made sheath to fit it.

I can second that. I purchased one for a Sunfish and have been extremely happy with the purchase. Very nice - almost too nice as I don't want to mess it up.

I am honored and humbled that you like your Sunfish sheath. Every sheath I make gets the same care as those I make for myself and I enjoy making them.
However please don't hesitate to use and enjoy your sheath in daily use. My goal is to make a sheath that will last as long as the knife it carries. I do try to make them look somewhat presentable but they really are made to be used and enjoyed.
lol. Maybe I need to develop a line of "EDC" sheaths. Sort of just "beaters". (But I don't think I can bring myself to do it!!) Some of my first ones, years ago, might have qualified.....but I like to think I've improved a bit.
