A new #48 Templar, 72 Stainless, 72 with a Spear Blade!!
First off, we'll see the balance of the #56's coming through later this week. I got a dribble of information about a new version of the #48 that will be called the "Templar". Here's some info to chew on till we get to see it:
Next up will be some #72 GEC's in American Elk and Red Wine Jig Bone with a Clip and the same materials with a Wharncliffe.
Of even greater interest is going to be the 72 Tidioute and Northfield's with a SPEAR blade. I know there have more than a few of you waiting for this one. Currently, it's anticipated we'll see an as yet unnamed jigged bone on both trademarks as well as a Bocote on the Tidioute.
We could very well see all of these within the next couple of weeks.
- Single clip Blade
- Man made handle materials ONLY: Kryptonite, Black Gold Perylic, Stained Glass, Black Micarta
- Northfield Trademark Only
- "...very medieval looking.." Not my words, but a quote.
- Probably about 10 days to 2 weeks out

I see the new 563111 has a rope knife type blade. This is much better then a hawkbill. And anymore blades with a hawkbill are not necessary >this weaver jack / rope knife / cotton sampler/ is best served plan and simple... just like Sara!

Great news on the 72 w/ spear blade. Would any other GEC collectors out there like to see more sabre ground master blades? - not necessarily in a spear blade.

I have very serious doubts about Damascus, but it sure would be fun wouldn't it!!!!!

Greg,
The 48 Western 2 blade Trapper has a unique second blade. It's sort of like a modified spay blade. When GEC first introduced it, I thought it was a beauty and would be a great blade for a single blade 48. I'm hoping that this is what they have in mind for the new Templar.

A nice chapter unfolds. The 56 Weaver looks interesting and the Spear 72 and a stainless 72 makes your wallet run for cover! I'd like to see more stainless an in particular a 48 single blade and a 56 eventually. Always something good on GEC's horizon.

Just a guess on the Templar, but a #48 frame with a Saber Clip blade and swing guard.

Been waiting a long time for the spearpoint #72!
An I agree about the cool spey blade on the western trappers. I'd like to see it on the #23 and #73 frames (in the appropriate size, of course).
Templar, eh? Medieval you say?
OK, everybody recite after me! "Pie Iesu Domine, dona eis requiem."
Whack!!!
