53M Double Diamond Ivory Bocote
It's something new and I'm curious as to what you all think of it. GEC ran a handful of the knife pictured with a Double Diamond Ivory colored inlay in Bocote Wood as well as a Snakewood with Abalone. I'm interested to hear what you all think of them. Classy or too much bling????

Hi Greg,
The inlays are very nicely done. Your photo does the knife justice. Better, I think, than the GEC pics.
But for my tastes, the inlay just doesn't reach out and grab me. I don't know why, because it is well done. Maybe it's the double diamond pattern that doesn't appeal to me.

Single might have been fine but I have to agree about the doubles.

I think if the diamonds were 1/2 the size, it would look much better.
The Missus thinks, if the diamonds were a bronze color, then it would look nice

I think it's not the greatest thing either but if most folks think this these are the ones they won't make any more of and these will be highly sought after in the future. Then we'll all want one
Question? Are the diamonds on both sides?

The diamonds are on both sides.

I actually like it! I think it looks nice. I think some people are a little over-traditional, but that's not GEC. Look at all the cool colors and patterns they have given us. Traditional, yes, but also stretching the boundaries of tradition and forward-thinking, too.
I say bring on even more cool, different stuff!

I'd like to see em' enlay UN-X-LD in the side, but I wonder what kind of price point that wold be

Now that would be interesting! Match it up with one of the Un-X-LD stamped blades maybe???

I think everyone has some pretty good points!!!! I don't really object to inlays, but this one.....hmmmmmm......
My biggest objection is the inlays are too big. When I see some of the older furniture or musical instruments with inlays, the one's that really catch my eye are the very fine and delicate inlays. I just feel the diamonds on the Muskrat kind of assualt your senses with an in your face "hey check it out"!! I'd like to see what it would look like if they had used possibly 3 very, very, very small diamonds in a row or maybe one tiny diamond near the bolster on each side. I mean small enough that you have to take a second look to really see it.
I think Russell was on point when he said this could be one that the collectors might be searching for in a few years. GEC has done a great job of unintentionally creating some very unique collectible pieces and this could be the latest.

Reminiscent of an Inlaid Gunstock or an Inlaid fretboard on a Guitar.I like it.

I like the idea, but it doesn't seem to match the bocote.
