Up Land Hunters are here
If you don't use a hunting knife or own a decent one, you probably won't appreciate the fixed blade Hunters that GEC has been bringing out. Again, I have to compare the new Up Land Hunter to one of the Bark River Big Mountain Skinners. The Big Mountain isn't the best comparable, but the Bark Rivers are my most familiar point of reference for me to use as a comparison and this is what I've got on hand!!!

So there's no misunderstanding, these two knives don't compete with each other, they're a perfect compliment to each other. Where the Bark River carries extra bulk and weight, the Great Eastern offers similar capabilities on a trimmer scale. What Great Eastern has quite cleverly done is to build a fantastic fixed blade knife based on their incredibly successful folders. I'm not that familiar with other makers that have taken this path, but I've gotta tell ya, it works!!!
I've got a bunch of pictures and a great article that Dave, down in Arizona, sent up to me to post on the blog. Dave did some field testing with one of the H73110 Bird & Trouts a while back. and put together a great read about the GEC fixed blades. As soon as I get a chance to scan his pictures and post the article I'll do it.

Greg,
Cant wait to see what Dave put togeather on these. I appreciate his take on them because I know for him the Hunters are true users. Gotta ask, Is there a Beaver Tail in the works for this one?

That's probably a .30 cal hole made when the hide was 'acquired'. I bought a half dozen tanned deer hides a few years ago, holes included.
