#25 Drop points are a winner in my book!!
I like 'em a lot!!!!
I've always been a fan of the drop point blades. One of my favorite fixed blades for in camp use has been the Bark River Northstar. Top to bottom is a Bark River Northstar, Mini Northstar and one of the new Great Eastern 255111 Jacks. That Northstar with Curly Maple handles has been on many a camping trip.
That new little Jack is going to be the perfect size for cleaning a trout before leaving the lake, trimming a frayed shoe lace or any other minor task. It's definitely going to complete my lineup of fixed blades. While it might not be able to handle everything the two fixed blades will, the odds are pretty good that it'll be in your pocket if your fixed blade gets left in camp.

Here's all three of the new 255's from top to bottom are the Ez Open, Jack and the Barlow. All three are almost identical in thickness at the midpoint, measuring a trim .46 inches. The jack has a slightly slimmer profile with the taper on the end cap.

I think it's unfortunate we probably won't see these run again in 2011 especially since this run was quite limited. As a result, more of these will end up in display cases than pants pockets and that is a shame. If you're an outdoors person and spend much time hunting or fishing, you'll definitely appreciate this blade configuration.

OK I know there are not alot of women in here and this is a girlie thing to say. That blue sure is a pretty knife. With that said, anyone looking to get a knife for your lady, this would be the one!!!

Good point Jan, but think of another side of this.
...... an attractive single lady takes a seat at the bar. The handsome available bar tender stops by to take her order. He pops open a bottle of Dos Equis and reaches for a fresh lime. He cuts off the most perfect slice of lime she's ever witnessed with his basketweave blue EZ open. She reaches across the bar, touches his hand and asks, ... 'where did you ever find such a gorgeous knife'.....
I think this could be a good knife for the guys and the gals!!!
Now....., I'd like a few moments to myself..........

Cabin Fever Greg? I will say that was the best laugh all day. Reverse the roles, wouldn't he be excited if his female bartender was using such a gorgeos knife... I am with you it works well for both

Thanks for the comparison picture with the Bark Rivers. These new 25s look good and so does the curly maple Northstar.
