News on the new #56, the New Sunfish and Production Update

Okay, it's been officially released that the new #56 will be a Reverse Dogleg Jack.  3 1/2" OAL  with a standard clip and a pen blade.  We should see them coming through around the first of October and not sure about the handle materials yet.  I think we had a fairly close guess in the contest.  This weekend I'll pull a name from the 'take a guess' file and announce the winner of the free 56 the first of the week.

Second, here's all the info on the upcoming 36's.  We already knew it would be a long pull spear main, a shield, possible new label, no blade etches, serialized AND, the big news is this rascal is going to have STEEL BOLSTERS, PINS & LINERS!!!  I'm gonna guess the weight at around 3#'s (maybe a little less).  I'm guessing that suspenders may become popular with folks that carry this bad boy.  I can't wait to see one.  Just from the description it truly sounds like a real 'old time' piece of cutlery that was made for work.

A couple of quick notes regarding the current production status.  The Tidioute 66 two blade jacks will be coming through in a day or two with the first ones in Ivory Acrylic and a new shield.  Then the 89 three blade Exec,  the new 36 and around the first of October the 55's will start coming through.  GEC has a couple of contract runs coming up that will no doubt be sandwiched in between, so delivery dates will probably shift a little.

There are three new fixed blades coming through.  Those are the first two and indeed, they are GEC's with 1095 blades.  I've got some mixed feelings about the GEC's with 1095, but frankly, that should be a dandy blade on that knife.  I'm really anxious to get my hands on them.

Thanks Pete.  I'm thinking if you could magnetize that 36 and carry it around in your pocket it should have some health benefits????  They have that magnetic jewelry that's supposed to adjust your karma or your electrons or some such thing....

I don't think that magnet stuff works. I remember as a kid, it was copper. You would see people wearing homemade copper bracelets to help with "the rumatiz".

      On this new #36.....

If you think the weight will be a bit much, take a look at how I carry my
      current Northfield Sunfish.

You practically forget it is in your pocket. If you have ever EDCed a Sunfish,
you know that forgetting about it in your pocket is a pretty big feat!!

Great idea.  And your right, carrying it loose in your pocket is kinda like having $5 worth of nickles in there.

Plus a Sunfish in the pocket leads to comments like "is that a Sunfish in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me."
