GCKG Knife Drawing coming up Next Week!!!

As promised around the first of September I'm giving away a really nice 48 Beaver Tail Jigged Bubinga Wood EDC to some lucky customer.  Anyone that places an order during the month of August is automatically included in the drawing so you don't have to do anything to be included if you've already made a purchase this month.  It's my GCKG (Guilty Conscience Knife Giveaway).  I really do feel bad when I take off and can't promptly ship items or take care of questions in a timely manner.

I should also mention that no one's going to be excluded for any snide remarks about my recent getaway.  I was really happy that everyone bit their respective tongues regarding what I may have actually been up to.  No bourbon foot soakings, etc, just a lot of hard research out in the field!!

      Pete,

good to hear from you.  Giving away a knife once in a while is my way to try and give back a little to the great folks that keep me in business and have a little fun in the process.  Ever since I found out I can't take all the neat stuff I've accumulated with me when I die (major disappointment), I figured I might as well give some of it away while I can enjoy doing it.  My wife says I can't give it away fast enough.  Now, I don't know if she means she'd like to see me kick off a little sooner or she just wants more room in the house!!!  Not gonna ask.

Let me give you some advice.  There's all kinds of goblins and gremlins in the world right now and seemingly, plenty to worry about as a result.  I grew up in the 50's and 60's.  These were years when we wrote reports in grade school on how to build a bomb shelter, crawl under your desk or how to find the closest Civil Defense shelter when the bad guys started hitting us with nukes. We were warned not to eat icicles and snow flakes cause they were full of fallout.  I owned a sporting goods business in the early 80's and paid 21% interest on an SBA loan for almost a year.  I lost a pile of cash in the 90's when the internet bubble burst on Wall Street, and so on, and so on.

My wife and I lost a very dear friend (in her mid 40's) to breast cancer earlier this year.  Just a month before she died, my wife went down to Texas to visit her and they went out to eat, shopped, everything you wouldn't expect her to be doing as sick as she was.  She made all the plans and arrangements for her own funeral.  We all laughed the day of the funeral that if she would have had another week, there would have been a dress rehearsal.  She bumped into all sorts of bad luck in her life, but Paula always had the determination not to let things get her down.  It's people like that who help me make it through the day.

There's all sorts of neat sayings like, .... 'what don't kill you just makes you stronger' or one of my all time favorites, ...'if you think this is bad, you ain't seen nothin' yet'...  The point is, don't spend a lot of time worrying about the stuff you can't control.  Don't make a damned bit of difference, things always have a way of working themselves out (so far).

      Sermons over!

Don't be a stranger!!  For the most part, we're all here to learn a little, maybe have a laugh or two (usually at my expense) and share a few thoughts and ideas.  Send me your mailing address (greg@tsaknives.com) and I'll send you a couple of TSA ink pens.  They're bound to make you feel better!!!!!

        Pete,
Greg makes alot of sense. Trust me, the boat we are all on keeps getting more crowded. Sometimes what gets me through the day is being on here with the good folks like Greg and the others. Visit often

          I'll certainly second that!
I check in here the first thing when I turn on my computer each day.
          Why here?
Because I can always count on something positive to start my day.

(like Jan's tip on coffee creamer.....)
