The 73 Abalone's are in!!
They're here and they look great!!! Take a close look and you'll notice a new style Northfield Shield, and a new blade etch. The end caps really finish this one off nicely. My initial order has serial numbers below 13. Sorry, but 2 through 6 8 are sold already.

I'm not impressed by the new shield. I'm not sure why they felt it needed changing, but leaving it rough and unpolished doesn't help.

One thing regarding the shield. I'm a lousy photographer and I did not wipe the knives off before I photographed them. The shield is polished just like the end caps. The shield looks okay, but I realloy prefered the "old" Un-X-LD shield.
If you look at the picture, you also notice what looks like a couple of drops of water on the blade, spots on the Abalone and what appears to be a gap around the shield. What you're seeing is dust particles, oil and shadows. I'm gonna try wiping them down, reshooting the knife and get another picture up. I just tried to get a quick closeup and get them on the blog. Bad decision. The knives do actually look better then the photos!!
