More on Red Buffalo
Just a note to you GEC fans. My (thanks again Greg) Red Buffalo 73 went to the Dana Point Yacht Club Opening Day festivities this weekend. He didn't get to cut much, due to my Wife's warning about embarrasing behavior, and despite the lousy cutlery provided by our reception luncheon. Oh well, I felt confident if any necessity.
Anyway, this little knife has now taken over my pocket and won't seem to let any of my other knives challenge for EDC. Now I've got a couple hundred knives, so this is good enough for me as a recommendation. Shameless promo, my apology, and I'm not even on the TSA/Great Eastern payroll.
Cheers,
Jaxon
ps: Maybe I'll get the new issue #54 to test. Hee, hee.

Jaxon, the key is to have 4 or 5 different colored handled #73's so that you're always 'color coordinated' for any event or venue. Embarrasing behavior be damned!! No way any respectable wife could give you a bad time for being so properly 'attired'. Black Buffalo for the black tie affairs, the Red Buff is perfect for any casual situation, a nice Green Bone for outdoor picnic type events, maybe a nice fancy acrylic for those evening dinner parties and of course, Stag is always classy to use for slicing pepperoni sticks at the country club after a nice golf outing. It just requires a little thoughtful planning!!! Tell your wife in no time she'll be the envy of all the other wives for having such a 'withit' husband.

Well Greg, I've got the Charcoal Buffalo Tidioute 73 and the Old Bark L Northfield now from your stable. And I just scored Diamond Back Red Bone #73 Tidioute S/N 210 off Ebay (sorry about that). But that dang Red Buffalo will just not give up it's pocket time, and I doubt my Wife will ever buy this BS about "I gotta get another knife".
Cheers,
Jaxon

Goodness, I just looked and it's been like 5 weeks since I posted on the Red Buffalo that Greg sent me. He's been busy all the time in the kitchen, my Wife asking me why not use a bigger knife. Well I said this is my favorite knife. (She says, why not sell all of the others. Bite your tongue woman.)
This little guy has done great slicing and dicing tomatoes, onions, peppers, cilantro, and stuff for salsa. Cucumbers for pickled salad. Ham for breakfast. And so forth and so on. With a dip in water, a blow with the air compressor, an oil wipe to preserve the patina, and a few passes on the strop or stone and he still looks like brand new. And by the way he no longer is breaking my thumbnail.
Life is good. Thanks Greg.
Jack
