Lumber Jack delayed but some 66's coming through

Sounds like the Lumber Jack may be pushed back to mid February. First we'll see the 72's get finished up, some 26's slide through and a new run of the 66 Calf Ropers.

New 72's are here.

The latest arrivals are some of the 72's with both the skinner and big spear blades. Nice looking knives, but I'm still waiting to see a drop point!

How about a little Christmas in January?????

I hope you're not getting bored with the Prototypes and the older knives I've been posting this week.  But just in case you are, lets break up the routine a bit. In 2009, there was a special run of just 16 unserialized #362209 Sunfish made called "Christmas Wishes". They were unique in that they had a really old time look about them with an acrylic covered picture of Santa Claus holding what appears to be a GEC knife ... << MORE >>

A tip for polishing tarnished blades

I keep forgetting to mention this, but I found a great product sitting in my garage to use on your knife blades. Don't know how many of you have used or even heard of "Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish". I've used it on aluminum wheels with excellent results and one day, wondered if it would clean up a knife blade. Yes it does!

This is the blade on one of my congress' ...

Adding nearly 150 older GEC's to the store

I am in the midst of processing close to a 150 knives out of 4 separate collections that I'll be posting in the store over the next week - 10 days. It's a rather eclectic grouping including a large number of Prototypes in stag, bone, etc as well as a few older knives and a number of short run knives. When I say older knives, most are from 2008 and '09,  but I hope to have a few ... << MORE >>

68 Genuine Stags and a couple more 65 Gen Stags

The 68 Clip Genuine Stags came in this afternoon and look every bit as good as the Spear model. Excellent looking Stag!

And that 65 Saber Ground Double Pull Gen Stag is the essence of  a Classy looking knife!

Fenix lights are in the store

I've got most of the Fenix products listed in the store with the exception of a couple of accessories. All of the lights will ship free. Plus, all lights will include batteries with the exception of the one's using D cells.

The brightness that these relatively little lights puts out is incredible. They give the term lighting up a room a whole new meaning. A lot of the lights also have a strobe function which is great for everything ...

68 Burnt & Genuine Stag

I added the Burnt Stag 68's yesterday and just put the Genuine Stags in today. This is probably some of the best looking Stag I've seen in a while. The White Owls were popular at the show I was at over the weekend and I think it's one of those knives that once you pick it up, you gotta have one!

Time for a rant......

Okay, every now and then it's good to clear the air and blow out the cobwebs. Take a deep breath, hold it and blow it out slowly. Sometimes, it works better to just go break something. AND there's a few heathens that will kick the dog. Instead, I got a blog so here goes......

Every now and then I'll see a bump in the number of GEC knives returned to me for one reason or another. In fact, I've got ...

I'll be stocking Fenix Lights starting NEXT WEEK

Don't know how many flashlight fans are out there but I just got shipping confirmation on my first order of Fenix lights. I've used MagLites for years for camping, around the house, in the garage, etc. Love 'em!!!  They're bright and tougher than nails. But, I'm always looking for something better.

Recently I had an opportunity to check out the Fenix line. I'd heard fantastic claims about the size and brightness. Well, they're right. There little keychain light compares in size to MagLites Mini. Both use a single AAA battery. The MagLite ... << MORE >>

What I'd like to see in 2012

I gave up on New Years resolutions after years of starting out with the best intentions and by the first of February kind of forgetting about them. Actually, after so many years I've finally accepted the fact that any significant changes in my life are only going to be brought about by legal consequences or worse, so, might as well move ahead and just make a 'wish list' rather than a list of resolutions.

Happy New Year Wishes!

Getting a bit of a jump on New Years and extending a Happy New Year a bit early. Where to start.....

This past year has been tough for a lot of folks with everything from hurricanes and floods to economic uncertainty and unemployment. I've had the good fortune to live in a part of the country that continues to experience extremely low unemployment and a growing economy. But most importantly, we're having one of the warmest, driest Fall/Winters we've had on record. Love it!!!

Northfield White Owl with a Bail / Lanyard

I received the first of the Northfield #68 White Owl's today. The Northfields will all have the bail. In the last couple of days I've heard from several of you saying you wished they would have left the bail off. I tended to agree until I got the knife in my hand (and pocket).

The first thing I did was compare #68 (bottom/left) to one of the #33 Conductors (top/right) with a bail.

Hot Hot HOT!!!

Hey, if you think I'm a little excited,...well, I am....

For a long time I've tried to think up a better way of carrying a FireSteel, particularly if you weren't carrying a knife sheath with the FireSteel loop. There are a number of belt type carriers out their but I've just never seen one I was overly impressed with. I wanted something with some versatility. I've sold quite a few of the Fire Starter Kits' I put together in the belt cases, but there had ...
